Howard Watts earned the endorsement of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. "The endorsements are made based on a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of business issues, voting record (when applicable), as well as dedication to creating a good environment for business growth, job creation and economic development."
The Las Vegas Review-Journal story mentions that the Chamber endorses a variety of candidates from across the political spectrum.
Of the nine endorsements that didn’t go to incumbents, some went to conservative Republicans, such as former Las Vegas police Deputy Chief Matt McCarthy in Assembly District 23, while others went to liberal Democrats, including progressive activist Howard Watts III in Assembly District 15.
The Nevada Independent reported on the endorsements, noting that the Chamber endorses candidates who will help spur job creation and help the economy grow.
